Madison Public Market Collaboration
UX Club x Madison Public Market — Spring 2025
Project Overview
Madison Public Market is one of the most anticipated community spaces in the city's history. Before it opens its doors, it needs a digital front door that matches the excitement. We're partnering with MPM's project team to redesign their website from the ground up — bringing student-led UX research, strategy, and design to a real-world launch.
The Challenge
MPM's current site doesn't reflect what the Market is becoming. Navigation is unclear, merchant visibility is low, and first-time visitors can't quickly find what they need. Our job is to change that.
What We're Building
A research-backed, interactive prototype of the redesigned MPM website, covering five core sections: Home, About, Events, Merchants, and Get Involved. Alongside the prototype, we're delivering a WordPress implementation guide so the MPM team can bring it to life.
Our Process
We follow Nielsen Norman Group's Design Thinking framework across six structured sessions:
Empathize / Define / Ideate / Prototype / Test / Showcase
Each session builds on the last — from stakeholder interviews and heuristic evaluation, to lo-fi sketches, to a polished, interactive Figma prototype.
